Do you know any gentlemen over 55 years of age living in the New Forest?
‘What shall I cook tonight?’ is a countywide scheme being promoted by Hampshire County Council’s Older People’s Wellbeing Team aimed at men over 55 years of age. The course recognises the part that good nutrition has to play in maintaining health and wellbeing.

It is primarily aimed at gentlemen who are single or finding themselves increasingly having to take on the responsibility of cooking, due to the ill health or infirmity of their spouse or partner. Feedback from gentlemen who’ve attended the course elsewhere around the County, has been very positive.

In a friendly and relaxed atmosphere you have the opportunity to discover:-

  • How to cook a range of simple meals from start to finish
  • Food shopping ideas
  • Food hygiene and storage
  • The importance of healthy eating for your health and wellbeing

A ‘taster session’ is planned for 14th January 2013 at the West Totton Centre, Hazel Farm Road, Totton.  Subject to sufficient interest and uptake, a 7 week course is planned to follow, during March and April.  For further details contact Sue Wilks or Vanessa Purchase at New Forest District Council on 02380 285588
