The work to reconstruct the quay wall at Berths 202 and 201 at the Port of Southampton has continued for approximately one month, with several complaints/enquiries received concerning the percussive piling noise.
Most of those complaints were resolved satisfactorily.

The New Forest website home page and the more detailed web page have been updated to include information to encourage New Forest residents to receive the latest updates on the timing of percussive piling works and potential noise disruption by following us on Twitter or joining us on Facebook.

This will  hopefully give residents the opportunity to alter their day to accommodate the impact from the noise if at all possible.

As usual, we are monitoring the noise levels to check compliance with the Consent issued under S61 of the Control of Pollution Act 1974 by Southampton City Council (in agreement with New Forest District Council)

Please do not hesitate to contact me should you wish to discuss the matter in further detail.
