Call and Go is a flexible minibus scheme that operates in the Waterside area of the New Forest.
Anyone can use Call and Go if their transport needs cannot be met by existing public transport. The service aims to help people who live too far from a bus stop to be able to use it, those who have mobility issues or use a wheelchair which makes it difficult to get on or off public transport.
Call and Go operates a fleet of fully equipped, wheelchair accessible minibuses, with caring drivers who are fully trained to transport passengers safely. The Community First New Forest drivers, many of whom are volunteers, collect clients from their home, take them to the destination and return them to their front door assisting them to carry in their shopping if required.
The Waterside service picks up from Fawley, Blackfield, Hythe, Dibden Purlieu and Marchwood and takes clients to Hythe town centre, Tesco and Morrison.
Many clients of Call and Go have been using the service for over 10 years. For some it is their only opportunity to get out, according to a client recently, “Call and Go is my lifeline. I have no other means to do my shopping, a wonderful service”.
Community First New Forest accepts concessionary bus passes and travel vouchers obtainable from Hampshire County Council.
