Highlights of 2014/15

Marchwood Youth Club

The Youth Club celebrated its second birthday in October and continues to
go from strength to strength. Working with the Youth Club is
Sharron Fitzgerald the Marchwood Youth Worker. Sharron is employed by
The HANDY Trust and part funded by the Parish Council. The Youth Club
have extended their hours to include an extra night and an after school drop in
session. They were also open over the school holidays.

Public Open Spaces

The Grounds men have worked tirelessly again this year to maintain the 80
acres of open space within the village. The Grounds men have continued to
carry out daily litter picks around the play areas and open space. Over the
autumn they planted another 5,000 bulbs which have flowered this spring.

We would also like to say thank
you to Marchwood Yacht Club
who provided the parish with a
dingy which we have used as a
new flower bed on the junction of
Main Road and Oakland Drive.

Bury Road cycle path and Long Lane footpath

At long last work has commenced
on both of the above footpaths /
cycle path. The installation of these
paths will make it safer to move
around the village and to travel to
Totton by foot or bicycle.
