We will continuing to fight our corner to minimise the impact on
Marchwood and I will report back on any future news.
On other news, I had the real pleasure of presenting a bouquet of
flowers, on behalf of Marchwood residents, to Agnes Croxson to
celebrate her 100th Birthday. Agnes lives in Avondale Lodge
Care Home in Marchwood. I arrived just as she and her fellow
residents were sitting down to afternoon tea, with a little glass of
sherry!

The village Fete was another great event in our Village, thank
you everyone who was involved. Along with it being a fun day
out, thousands of pounds was raised for local charities by the
many groups represented on the day. At the Fete the Parish
Council stall had a display about local history, produced by the
Forget Me Nots, historical group. They will also have a display at
Picnic in the Park in August. I would like to thank them for all
their hard work in researching Marchwood’s history.
Cllr Rolli Rowlands along with a small team from the Parish
Council have been organising this year’s Picnic in the Park,
which would have been held by the time you read this report.
This afternoon and evening of music at the Lloyd’s recreation
ground promises to be a really fun event. We hope to raise lots of
money for the Royal British Legion, the Solid Silver club and the
Scouts and Guides new building fund, as well as provide free
entertainment to local residents and celebrate the Parish
th
Council’s 120 anniversary.
