Chairman's Report -
                   Councillor Fred White

         Cllr. David Dale
It is a sad coincidence that I have to report a further
resignation of another Councillor. In the summer we
lost Jane Bovey and now David Dale because of other
commitments specifically his charity activities in
David’s thoughtful contribution to me personally and
more generally to my colleagues will be missed.

         Cllr. David Makinson
The good news is that David Makinson has stepped forward, some of you
who are older will remember him. He was a councillor in the past and has now
returned with a lifetime of experience to contribute towards our community.
         Welcome David.

We have now found one replacement but we need an additional Councillor.
Do you have the time and commitment? Please contact the office if you are
         interested in joining us.

It has been a busy time since I last reported to you in the Summer. There
have been two important events to report.
         Marchwood Heroes
I have reported at length elsewhere about our Marchwood Heroes
celebrations on the 14 September. Well done to all those who received

         Freedom of the New Forest
I represented the Parish at the Freedom of the New Forest District to17 Port
and Maritime Regiment RLC (Marchwood) at Lyndhurst on Sunday 25 th
September. Amongst those who accompanied me were your two District
Councillors, Alison Hoare and Sue Benison together with David Harrison,
County Councillor. The regiment has been given the right, honour and
distinction of marching through the streets of the District on all ceremonial
occasions with “swords drawn, bayonets fixed, drums beating, bands playing
         and colours flying”.
