Proposed Cork Farm development
Due to planning rules Marchwood Parish Council is unable to express an opinion or comment on any possible future planning application.
If when the application is formally submitted a Councillor having done so would not be able to take part in any discussion and would lose their right to vote.
The Parish Council are only able to comment once a formal planning application has been received by Hampshire County Council (HCC) and New Forest District Council (NFDC) and then only at the Parish Council meeting called for that purpose.
Councillors are however able to listen to any case supporting or rejecting a proposal, in advance of the meeting, but they will not be able to offer support to either standpoint.
The Planning process
The Developer will submit a planning application to Hampshire County Council and New Forest District Council. Once the application is received the Parish Council will be consulted on the application and asked for our opinion. The Parish Council do not make the final decision.
During the planning process members of the public are able to write to HCC and NFDC with their views on the planning application and are able to attend the meetings of the Parish, District and County Council. Please note, to be able to speak at the District and County meetings you must have pre-arranged to do so.
Only material considerations such as noise, visual impact, highways issues and smells can be taken into account by the planning authority. Things that cannot be taken into account are loss of view, problems arising from the construction period and loss of property value.
