Hampshire County Council has received a request from Lafarge, operators of Marchwood Wharf for running material overnight for a road contract on the A31.
The contract is A31 Malwood Hill Kerbing and Drainage works, which is the first section of the A31 after junction 1 on the M27.
The work is to be carried out over two nights, although they have not had a confirmed start date they are expecting it to be within the next week.
All traffic will approach and leave the site from/to the north ie there will be no traffic going through the village of Marchwood to the south.
This request has been agreed as an exceptional circumstance, recognising that these type of road works are carried out overnight in the interests of highway safety and to minimise disruption to traffic. |
