Police are appealing for witnesses following a road rage incident where a motorist was assaulted on the Marchwood bypass sometime between 7.45 and 8.45pm on Tuesday, June 24.
An 18-year-old man from Hythe was driving a black Vauxhall Corsa along the bypass in the direction of Hythe when he noticed a silver or gold coloured Renault estate vehicle driving closely behind him.
The male driver of the Renault attempted to overtake the Corsa before forcing the vehicle to pull over on the Main Road at Dibden, near the church.
The Renault driver parked behind, got out of the vehicle, and caused damage to the wing mirror of the Corsa. He then punched the driver of the Corsa through the open driver’s window causing minor cuts and bruising.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information is asked to contact Police Constable Debby Holman at Hythe police station on 0845 045 45 45, or call Crimestoppers, the charity, anonymously on 0800 555 111. |
