Police are appealing for information following a report of a robbery at a lay-by at the side of Marchwood Post Office in the village centre.
The incident is reported to have taken place at approximately 5.15pm on Monday, November 26.
A woman told police she had parked her small silver hatchback car in the lay-by and was collecting a large amount of cash from the boot of her car which had been collected as part of her work.
The money was to be paid in at the Post Office.
As she leant over into the back of the car she felt something being pushed onto her back. A man demanded money from her and told her not to turn around.
The woman handed over a significant amount of cash in a money bag.
Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, in particular a man seen by the woman walking a dog past the village centre shops as she parked her car.
Anyone with information should contact CID at Lyndhurst police station on 0845 045 45 45, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. |
