70 excited children squeezed into
the Village Hall for what was the third Light Party
organised on 31st October by the three village churches,
St John’s,
New Forest Community Church and the Gospel Church.
They enthusiastically competed in their teams at “Potted
Sports” – a bit like the Olympic Games,
but on table tops – with the Chimps team eventually
winning by the closest of margins.
Afterwards they
polished off the cakes and snacks which had been
provided, before sitting down to listen to Scruff
the Dog singing “How Much is that Doggy in
the Window”.
Finally, all the children made a colourful
streamer before collecting their bags of sweets on
the way out.
Everyone complimented the children on their most
excellent behaviour, they were a credit to the village
of Marchwood. A big thank you goes to all the adult
and teenage helpers who made the event run so smoothly.
A good time was certainly had by all!
