Following on from the last Village News Magazine. An exciting school assembly took place with Midforest Vet Justyn Loveridge about ‘Responsible Dog Ownership’.
He spoke about making sure your dog was vaccinated, regularly wormed and de-fleaed, making sure you took them out for regular exercise and giving them a healthy diet.
He also explained to the children about the diseases one can get from dog faeces, and to make sure you pick up their mess with a poop scoop and then wash your hands as soon as you can.
He encouraged the children with their project to write letters and make
posters.
Later on in the term, a police dog handler will also be attending a assembly to discuss with the children about working dogs.
The children will be given certificates and book tokens for the winning entries and we are hoping to place more dog bins within the Village and encourage members of the public who have dogs to be more responsible owners.
