New Forest Volunteering Celebrated!
Community First New Forest Volunteer Centre was delighted to host the ‘Celebration of Volunteering’ at Hoburne Bashley, New Milton on the 31st March.
Over a hundred people from 13 voluntary organisations attended the Forest Rooms at Hoburne, to celebrate the invaluable work, commitment and dedication they give to the community.
‘The Funky Little Choir’, a group of children from the local community entertained guests with popular songs and were loved by all.

Councillor Bill Dow, Chairman of New Forest District Council and President of Community First New Forest presented the certificates, after the volunteers had been welcomed by Mr Ian Mason Smith, Chairman of Community First.
There was a real feeling of celebration about the whole evening. It was a great opportunity for everyone not only to be recognised for the work that they do and the services their organisations provide, but the chance to get together and ‘meet all the lovely volunteers’.
The buffet after the certificate presentation gave everyone the chance to mingle and to exchange stories.
One volunteer commented ‘It’s so good seeing so many worthwhile projects, and really good to see youth so involved. Thank you so much for a lovely evening.’ |
