Hello, my name is Alan Stevens and I am currently working with Marchwood Parish Council in the role of Community Plan Co-ordinator. My task is to work with the individuals, businesses and organisations that represent all aspects of the community of Marchwood to:

- Identify the most important things that need to be addressed in order to further improve the quality of life for Marchwood residents and businesses.

- Develop the action plan and timetable that will be required to deliver those desired outcomes.

- Locate sources of additional funding at District, County and Regional level that are available in order to effectively address the priorities identified in the Community Plan.

The Community Plan process in Marchwood began with the circulation of our yellow ‘like it/don’t like it’ questionnaires in the last quarter of 2006. The response from the people of Marchwood has been magnificent with more than 600 individual responses giving us a very clear idea of what the community feels are the action priorities that need to be addressed by the Marchwood Community Plan. The next stage has been to pull all the responses together and develop a draft plan that focuses on the action priorities.

I would now like to ask you to take a look at the draft Community Action Plan and let us have your views on how that draft plan can be further improved. Of particular importance is any information you can give us on the specific details of exactly what needs to happen and where for each action priority.

Where can I get a copy of the Action Plan?

- Via the Marchwood Parish Council web-site at www.marchwoodparishcouncil.org.uk on the Community Plan page, where you can review the plan and then send us your comments on-line.

- Via a phone call to the Marchwood Parish Council office on 02380 860273 where they will be pleased to send you a hard copy.

- From Marchwood village hall or from the post office counter in Co-op/Alldays.

- The draft Action Plan can also be viewed in a plastic folder at the Village Hall, Co-op/Alldays, the Junior and Infant schools, the Gospel church and St John’s Church and at the Mulberry Welfare Centre.

Please take the time to take part in the Community Plan consultation process, as it is only through the active involvement of the community that the real issues affecting Marchwood will be addressed.
