The formal handing over of the Thunder Bell and Door Knocker
The formal handing over of the Thunder Bell and Door Knocker
l to r: Mike Clarke, Mr Fountain,
Steve Bassett, Cllr Darryl Hindle,
Major Ross Mason, Margaret Bernard, Cllr Ron Vango-Fisher, Lt. Paul Robinson and children from Marchwood Junior School.
After the sad closure of the British Military Powerboat Trust, where the Thunder Bell and Door Knocker were originally sited, it was decided a new home was needed.

With its historic links to Admiralty Quay, formally the Royal Naval Armaments Depot, it was agreed to keep the items in Marchwood and Marchwood Junior School was happy to have them.

A special assembly was arranged and the formal handing over on the 26th April proved to be a great success.

Along with a wooden plaque carved by Mr Fountain displaying the school logo the bell now now has pride of place in the school.
