Spring term at Mulberry Pre-School was spent preparing for Easter, making nest cakes and cards and looking at the seasonal changes occurring in nature, planting seeds and studying tadpoles at close range.
Our annual Easter disco was very enjoyable and included Easter bonnet and painted egg competitions, with some wonderfully creative entries. Thanks to everyone who came and helped to make this such a successful event.
This term we are looking at a selection of Martin Waddell books, which address a range of issues including laziness, jealousy, sibling rivalry and unfairness with sensitivity and humour. We will also be exploring new arrivals, day and night, numbers and sizes, and talking about farms and farm animals.
The children have been enjoying the slightly warmer weather and making mud pies and nests out of twigs and leaves. We are also looking forward to some picnics and to the long-awaited opening of our back garden, following some final preparations to take place in early May. This has been a long-term project and it will be lovely to see the children able to see the space and improvements that have been made.
We would like to thank the Fire Preservation Society for their donation of £350 which has been very much appreciated.
Finally, a date for your diaries: we would be delighted to welcome parents and current and prospective pre-schoolers to our open day which will take place on Saturday 24th June from 11:00am to 3:00pm. This is a nice, informal opportunity to meet the staff and look around the school and there will be refreshments and amusements to enjoy.
