What a busy six months we have had here at the Village Hall. In March we had our first Cinema presentation which was Pride & Prejudice.
This was reasonably well attended and we will be doing it again on June 19th with ‘Mrs Henderson Presents’: The story of a wartime Windmill Theatre. The doors open at 2.30pm with the film starting at 3pm. Refreshments and ice cream will be available. The cost will be £4.50 per ticket.
By now we will have held our Ladies Pamper Evening and every indication shows it will be a success. The Tea Dances continue to be very popular and in June we will be holding a ‘40’s Afternoon Tea Ball ‘. This will be on June 10th from 2 – 5pm the tickets will be £3.50 which includes a buffet tea.
In May we launched the ‘Solid Silver Club’ on Tuesdays 2 – 4pm. This is a weekly social, for those enjoying their second spring. With the closure of the Darby and Joan Club earlier this year, we are expecting this to be a very popular afternoon and hope to build various forms of entertainment into this weekly club.
With the ever increasing variety of community events that the Village Hall now provides, it is becoming clear that a band of volunteers is required to help out with things like tea making etc. providing a very useful service without being tied to a committee. If you would be interested in becoming a volunteer please phone Barbara on 80667927.
Don’t forget that the Village Hall is available for hire for parties, meetings, classes etc. at very reasonable rates
Every day there is something going on at the Village Hall, these including:-
Women’s Institute – Parish Council Meetings – Parent & Toddler Group – Line Dancing – New Forest Brass Band – Weight Watchers – Rosemary Conley – Karate – Kung Fu – Spanish & French Classes – Yoga – New Forest Community Church – Aerobics
and much, much more.
If you want any information on the above please call the office on 023 8066 7927 and we will be pleased to help you.
