In glorious weather over the first May Bank holiday, members enjoyed a
successful exchange trip to our twinned village of St.Contest in Normandy.
As usual, our French hosts looked after us superbly in their homes, and on Saturday guests were taken by their individual hosts on a variety of trips including a visit to an umbrella factory and a local produce market before everyone met up for aperitifs before dinner.
On Sunday a trip by coach was arranged for a very interesting visit to the artist Claude Monet’s famous house and gardens at Giverny. This was followed by a delightful meal ‘al fresco’ alongside a river and under a flowering magnolia tree at a lovely hotel with a water mill.
The Association welcomes new members. An ability to speak French is definitely not a requirement as French people love to practice their English.
Apart from exchange visits, we do meet socially for quiz nights and other activities.
