Age Concern
May I remind senior citizens of some of the services Age Concern New Forest East provide for residents. They include anything from running luncheon clubs, computer lessons at Applemore College to providing all types of insurance, including travel insurance for over 50s up to 80+.
I wish to draw particular attention to the local podiatry services with centres operating in doctors’ surgeries in Dibden Purlieu and Totton. There is also a visiting service that already operates in Marchwood. Charges are approximately half the usual.
For more information contact Jean Adams: Telelphone 023 80841199 between 10.00am - 12 noon.
Bus Passes
Following the surprising and excellent response to my earlier entry please forgive my repeating the following information.
Some senior citizens are not aware that a Concessionary Travel Scheme is operated by New Forest District Council for the over 60’s. Both men and women are eligible at this age! This scheme enables card holders to travel on buses at half the normal fare. Disabled people can apply for taxi vouchers to the value of £40.00.
A passport sized photograph is required, to be returned with the application form. Application forms can be obtained either from the New Forest District office at St. Johns Road, Hythe, or from myself on telephone number 023 8066 7095.
