HOLY WEEK & EASTER 2007
Sunday 1st April - Palm Sunday
We remember Jesus riding into Jerusalem on a donkey and beginning the final week of this earthly life.
8am - Holy Communion
10am - Blessing and distribution of Palms and dramatic reading of the Passion of Jesus and sung Eucharist.
Monday 2nd & Tuesday 3rd - see notice board for details of services on these days.
Wednesday 4th April -
7pm Holy Communion
Thursday 5th April - Maundy Thursday
On this day we recall the Last Supper - Jesus telling us to “Do this to
remember Him” and how he went out into the Garden of Gethsemane and was arrested.
7.30pm Sung Eucharist with the stripping of the altars and Compline sung to plainsong.
GOOD FRIDAY - 6th April
The day Jesus died on the cross for us. He was crucified at 9am and died at 3pm.
2pm - “The Last hour on the Cross” a quiet service of devotion to remember Jesus.
7.30pm “ The Cross of Christ” - a sung service of hymns, reading and anthems.
HOLY SATURDAY
9.30 onwards decorating the church for Easter - all help appreciated.
EASTER DAY
8am Holy Communion
10am The Eucharist of the Resurrection - the lighting of the Pascal Candle with joyful music and choir anthem.
Sunday Services
8 am Holy Communion - a quiet service
10 am Parish Eucharist - a musical service with a club for younger ones and coffee after the service
Monday 10 am - Parent & Toddlers - welcome in the Church Hall
Wednesday 7 pm - Holy Communion - a quiet service
Thursday 10.30 - Pop In - Church Hall open for coffee
Friday 9 am - Holy Communion - a quiet service
