The Spring Term started with much talk of the nativity play the children had performed at the Christmas Entertainments Events.
“The Christmas Baby” was a huge success with one of the largest attendances by parents, grandparents, aunties, uncles and friends we have seen in some time. The children all did so well and looked fantastic in their costumes. So a huge thank you to all the parents who supplied them, to the staff who began all the hard work in November, and the pre-school committee for their support.
This term the pre-school children have been learning about colours. This has been achieved by showing the children how colours can be fun in many different ways. We have explored things like coloured sand, coloured ice and dough. We have also learnt how mixing colours can make new colours. The children have also made rainbow charts to help us learn about the basic colours.
The Twigglet children have been looking at shapes and sizes. We have started with the basic shapes and moved on to more complex ones. This has been achieved through various activities and games.
The early part of the term saw us celebrating the Chinese New Year, which is the Year of the Dog. The Twigglet children also made a dragon to put to use while singing and dancing to our own “Dragon Rap!”
