I wrote an article in the last Village News to say that as a District Councillor I had been awarded a £500 Rural Assistance Grant to spend within the community to help improve facilities for the village.

I said that I’d hoped to use it to provide a bicycle for our local policeman. I thought that would be an excellent use for the money because it would be seen to provide benefits for the whole community. Unfortunately circumstances have changed and that is not longer possible.

So I have to find another use for the money, and I am asking for your views on good ways of using that money. I would like to find something that would benefit a broad cross-section of residents, rather than just a narrow band.
