The term following Christmas has, once again, been an eventful time at Mulberry Pre-School.
We began this term by looking at the topic ‘Ourselves’ where the children have been learning about their bodies and feelings through a number of different activities and been involved in making their own ‘All About Me’ books.
The children were also able to discover personal preferences when we held a food tasting to celebrate Chinese New Year. This was a good opportunity to look at how different cultures celebrate special occasions.
There was also a traditional English custom to enjoy when we held our own Crufts Show with a selection of pedigree soft toy dogs on parade.
The pre-school would like to thank everyone who supported our Christmas fund raising events. Both the annual Christmas raffle and the hamper raffle, held at the late night shopping evening, were very successful and the proceeds will enable us to purchase some much-needed equipment for the pre-school.
We are also delighted to report great progress towards the realisation of our sensory garden with the receipt of two grants to fund the work planned. The donations of £450 from Exxon and £75 from Marchwood Parish Council will enable us to action our plans and create a wonderful space for the children to play and learn in. Our thanks go to Exxon and Marchwood Parish Council for their generous support.
