We began the new term welcoming
back all the existing and new
children after the Christmas Holidays. By all accounts,
everyone seemed to have enjoyed the Christmas Entertainment
event - our production of “The Wizard of Oz” Twiggs
Lane style was quoted by many as a great success.
Our focus for the spring term has been on developing communication and listening
skills; language and literacy. This was achieved by concentrating on Nursery
Rhymes such as Row Row Row Your Boat, Humpty Dumpty, Incy Wincy Spider, and One
Two Buckle My Shoe.
In addition to these popular rhymes, the older children also focused on story
books by way of helping to develop further listening skills, as well as communication
language and literacy. The titles chosen were Smiley Shark, Hungry Caterpillar,
When Will It Be Spring, and I Don’t Want To Go To Bed.
The Chinese New Year was also celebrated by the children in style. This year
is The Year of the Rooster, and we all had a lot of fun doing our own Dragon
Dance.
Finally, we would like to say a huge “Thank You” for all the continued
support we received from the parents and guardians who gave their time and assistance
during last term’s fund raising events. Both the Toy Sale and Activity
Morning were very successful and all the funds raised will be going towards new
equipment for the pre-school.
Please remember it is never too early to register your child for pre-school,
please call in and collect an application form. We have been OFSTED inspected
and are registered for the Nursery Education Grant. |
