The last three months have seen some new experiences for the Solid Silver Club. We held our first Annual General Meeting which went by without a hitch. On the 6th June we were guests at the Junior School for some D Day entertainment from The Companions of Song. It was an excellent afternoon with pupils from the school and those whose school days are long past enjoying together an afternoon of song and verse. The children were excellent hosts and a credit to the school.

The event was so successful that it may become an annual event!
On July 4th we celebrated American Independence Day with hot dogs, muffins and a quiz all in true ‘Yankee’ style. In August we welcomed Tommy ‘C’ who is a hit with his 50’s and 60’s music. Later in the month saw the return of the Club’s favourites Stan & Eileen who provide the music for a good old sing song. Later in the year we are going on a ‘Mystery Tour’, a trip to the Old Tyme Music Hall, enjoying a Fish & Chip lunch and Christmas Lunch. All this and quizzes, bingo and hilarity.
We are always looking for new members to swell our numbers. If you’re over 50 come and join us. We meet at Marchwood Village Hall every fortnight 2pm – 3.30pm. the cost per week is £1.50 which includes refreshment.
Future dates are Sept.12/26 (Mystery Tour), Oct.10 (Old Tyme Music Hall) /24, Nov 7 (Fish & Chips)/21, Dec 5 (Carols) /19 (Christmas Lunch)
Why not pop in and see what we do – we’re a friendly bunch who like a good chat, a laugh and a cup of tea. For further information call Barbara on 023 80667927
