As late summer approaches we turn our thoughts to the autumn time at the Village Hall. New activities this autumn include Belly Dancing, Aikido Club, the return of Junior Karate and meditation sessions. Old favourites such as Rosemary Conley, Line Dancing, Solid Silver 50+ Club, Wednesday Coffee Morning and Pre School Toddler Groups to name but a few, carry on as usual.
Marchwood Village Hall is entirely independent of the local councils and run by a group of volunteer trustees. The hall is a prestigious venue and all three rooms are available to hire by any individual or group. Non profit making regular groups can take advantage of associate membership and therefore a marginally lower fee. We endeavour to keep the hiring fee as low as possible whilst ensuring the quality of the facilities available remains first class. Our room rates compare favourable with other local venues.
A community asset such as Marchwood Village Hall incurs enormous expenses. Just to keep the fabric of the building, contents and caretaking needs which meet the statutory requirements for a public building necessitate constant fund raising. We currently fulfil this obligation with our monthly Tea Dances, Toddler mornings and Children’s Healthy
Activity sessions.
This year’s premier fund raisers are ‘Ladies Pamper Evening’ 19th September £5.50, the sequel to last year’s huge success and a ‘Wine Tasting’ evening on 20th October £5.00 . Both of these events include a buffet and are ticket only. Details can be obtained from the office on 02380667927.
Remember this is your village hall, so if you have any ideas for a new event let us know.
