Marchwood Community Plan update.
The following are the top priorities for each question that have been identified from questionnaires received up to 21st December
Most Liked:
- Village community with a friendly feel
- Open spaces, parks, playgrounds, rural surroundings
- Location near forest, towns, motorway, water.
- Local shops / Post office
- Good public amenities/facilities
- Good schools
- Quiet life/peaceful
- Health Centre/Dentist/Chemist
Least liked:
- Too many lorries / traffic
- Vandalism and graffiti
- Speeding traffic
- Litter / fly tipping
- Lack of safe foot and cycle paths
- Smell from the sewerage works
- Old incinerator building
- Traffic calming measures
Wish we had:
- More safe footpaths
- More policemen/police presence
- Wider selection of shops
- Effective traffic calming measures
- Improved public transport / passenger rail links
- Access to waterfront
- Safe cycle routes
- Youth centre
Don’t want in Marchwood:
- More housing development
- More lorries / traffic
- More industrial development
- Dibden Bay development
- More rubbish handling facilities
- Another power station
- A supermarket
- Wheely bins
