In two periods before and after Christmas, Steve Bassett and the teachers of Marchwood Junior School ran in-class discussions on the Community Plan questionnaire with over 200 children taking part. A Prize Draw was held with the winner, Courtney Huckin winning the £10.00 voucher for the Co-op/Alldays.
The Community Plan aims to identify what everybody in Marchwood thinks should be the included in the future development plans for your Village. Hearing the views of everybody who lives, works and goes to school in Marchwood about what they think those future plans should be is very important. Therefore the contribution made by Steve, his team and their pupils has made a valuable contribution to the Community Plan and is very much appreciated.
The most important things the young people of Marchwood Junior School would like to see included in the plan were:
Most Liked:
- Village centre and shops
- Parks, open spaces and playgrounds
- Schools and teachers
Least liked:
1. Graffiti
2. Litter and rubbish
3= Vandalism
3= Too many lorries
Wish we had:
- More/better parks and playgrounds
- Different shops
- More sports/youth facilities
Don’t want in Marchwood:
- More lorries/traffic
- Any more shops
- More bullies, bad/nasty people
