Marchwood Infant School ran a discussion on the Community Plan questionnaire with 66 children in groups of 6 and have let us know their views. A Prize Draw was held with 2 winners each winning £5.00.
The Community Plan aims to identify what everybody in Marchwood thinks should be the included in the future development plans for your Village. Hearing the views of everybody who lives, works and goes to school in Marchwood about what they think those future plans for the village should be, will therefore be very important.
The children worked with Miss Goulding in groups of 6 to discuss the things they liked most and liked least and wished we had in Marchwood. They then filled in questionnaires with what the children felt were the most important things to include in the plan.
Most Liked:
- Parks and Playgrounds
- Local shops
- Location near to the Forest and the Water
Least liked:
- Too much traffic and traffic jams
- Dog and horse poo on the pavements
- Too many lorries, particularly through the village
Wish we had:
- Fewer cars and lorries
- A paddling pool
Don’t want in Marchwood:
- More traffic, lorries and coaches
